I am currently working on a distant reading of novels that thematise surveillance. This component of SurveiLit will analyse whether there are correlations between types of surveillance technologies that appear in contemporary fiction, different geopolitical contexts, and forms of literary narrativization. This will involve the development of a relational database of surveillance literature organised around tags relevant to the project’s three key research questions.
